RECRUITMENT OF FRENCH TEACHERS AND ASSISTANTS IN THE REGION OF SAN FRANCISCO

We are currently seeking teachers for the 2017-2018 school year, in all of our Bay Area schools. We are looking for two types of profiles: – Primary school teachers who know the French Education Ministry’s curriculum and are aware of the issues linked to bilingualism. – Teachers trained in teaching French as a Foreign Language. We also have openings for assistants and provide training every year for those who would like to become EFBA teachers.

• Your native language is French.

• You have passed a certification exam with the Ministry of Education of a French-speaking country or hold a California State Teaching Credential.

• You have real experience with children from 5 to 16 years old.

• You know how to structure a class for several levels and use the talents of an assistant to ensure that each student gets personal attention.

• You think it is possible to learn syntax through song, conjugation with a board game and that the accents of diverse French-speaking countries add beauty to our language.

• You are available in the afternoon.

• You are legally authorized to work in the United States.

We are currently seeking assistants for the 2016-2017 school year at all our Bay Area sites.

• You are not a teacher but would like to become one.

• You would like to start in a new career centered on the French language and a love of children.

• You have a university education.

• Your have excellent fluency in French.

• You have experience with children 5 to 16 years old.

The pay is generous and proportional to your education/credentials and experience. This is a salaried, part-time employment offer.

With the exception of seasonal, summer jobs, the organization does not sponsor candidates for work permits with the immigration services. You must already be eligible to work in the United States in order for your application to be considered. If your only experience is giving private lessons, please do not apply for a teaching position.

You can, however, apply for a position as an assistant, camp counselor or volunteer, depending on your experience with children. We also offer teacher training for those interested in working at EFBA.
