BEST FRENCH SUMMER CAMPS IN THE BAY AREA
Our immersion French summer camps allow children to acquire language and / or reduce the loss of language during summer, and above all to discover cultures and create intrinsic motivation for the pursuit of French learning!
We have chosen an increased supervision rate in order to guarantee the safety and full immersion of your child in a French environment. We are proud to be able to provide such conditions at an affordable price.
EFBA’s summer camps are organized by weekly themes designed to stimulate children’s curiosity and their motivation to play in French. We offer French camps for children aged 4 to 11 in San Francisco, Dublin and Berkeley, and for children aged 3 to 11 in Mountain View (children under 5 must be fully potty-trained to attend). This year, we’re excited to introduce, for the first time, a Counselor-in-Training program in Mountain View for teens aged 12 to 15!
A day at our summer camp starts at 8:30am and ends at 3:00pm, with the option of enrolling your child in additional aftercare, also in French, from 3:00 to 6:00pm.

GOALS AND OUTCOMES
EFBA is a French immersion language camp. EFBA experience is also a school of life. It is our belief that each camper is a unique individual with his or her own pace of development. Our goal is to introduce the campers to as many positive experiences as possible. It is our hope that the experiences we provide will foster creativity and individuality in each camper, encourage an awareness of themselves and others and open their mind to the world.
EFBA has established the following academic and developmental goals for all campers:
- To get to love French and its cultures.
- To learn and improve their command of the French language.
- To develop a curiosity and a respect for other people’s languages and cultures.
- To appreciate diversity.
- To grow personally and gain a greater sense of one’s own worth.
- To develop self-confidence and grit.
- To be inspired to lead a life of care, honesty, respect and responsibility.
- To experience improved personal relationships.
- To become better leaders.
- To have fun!
COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION
EFBA is committed to respecting the dignity and well-being of each child by creating a respectful and positive environment in which each child can find his/her/their place and reach his/her/their full potential.
We provide an inclusive and welcome environment to the children and adults who participate in our programs, their families, our employees, staff members, and volunteers
It is particularly important for us to provide access to our programs for all children. Living together, accepting and respecting differences, and enriching the community through diversity are all part of our mission. We are committed to welcoming all children, regardless of ability, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, cultural, racial, ethnic or national origin, social origin, opinions or beliefs. We value and respect the entire Francophone world and beyond.
DOES EFBA ACCEPT CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AT CAMP?
EFBA advocates the inclusion of children in our summer camps. Children with special needs (learning differences or needing assistance) are welcome. In this case, please let us know about the child’s special needs during the enrollment process. Because we are a small nonprofit, we cannot come up with a plan at the last minute. Let us know in advance (at least one month) and we will work with you to understand your child’s needs and the reasonable accommodations that need to be made.
