At EFBA Camp, we provide an engaging day camp experience for children, filled with playful, immersive activities that spark creativity and cultural discovery in French.

In 2025, we’re excited to ensure teens aren’t forgotten by introducing a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) role for ages 12 to 15 at our Mountain View location, where they can develop leadership skills while practicing their French.

A TYPICAL SUMMER DAY AT EFBA CAMP FOR CHILDREN AGES 3 TO 11 (ALL CAMPS)

A day at our summer camp starts at 8:30am and ends at 3:00pm, with the option of enrolling your child in additional aftercare, also in French, from 3:00 to 6:00pm.

Because each child has a different pace, different skills and abilities, we offer a maximally varied and full activity schedule.

Each week has a different theme linked to an element of Francophone culture around which activities are focused. Friday afternoon is dedicated to the Big Event where everyone is involved in the concluding game of the week.

Please note: For the safety and comfort of all participants, children under 5 must be fully potty-trained to attend.

A typical day usually involves :

  • Welcome and greetings
  • Singing/music and storytime to stimulate the imagination and discover new horizons
  • French class (per level of proficiency in a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of a vacation in France!)
  • Arts and crafts
  • Self-expression activities such as theater
  • Lunch time (seated at shared tables with the group) and quiet/resting time afterwards (a nap is arranged for the younger ones)

  • Outdoor athletic games
  • A food and taste awareness activity (once per week)
  • Free time with optional activities

The play-based aspect of our activity schedule allows children to take pleasure in the language and also discover new games and new abilities, to meet and make friends with peers and counselors.

The average supervision ratio of 1 adult to 7 children gives children a choice of activities while keeping them SAFE.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING AT EFBA CAMP (MOUNTAIN VIEW, AGES 12–15)

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program at EFBA Camp offers teens aged 12 to 15 an incredible opportunity to grow as leaders while engaging in a fully immersive French environment. As a CIT, teens play an active role in supporting camp counselors and younger campers, learning valuable skills and contributing to the camp’s vibrant, play-based atmosphere.

CITs assist with planning and facilitating activities, guiding small groups of campers, and contributing to the immersive Francophone experience by always communicating in French. Whether co-leading arts and crafts, supporting games, or helping to prepare the camp’s weekly Big Event, CITs gain hands-on experience in leadership and teamwork.

One of the unique aspects of the program is the opportunity to practice French daily with a team of native French-speaking counselors, many of whom come directly from French-speaking countries. This cultural exchange allows CITs to improve their language skills while discovering new perspectives and traditions.

The program is designed to foster responsibility, communication skills, and confidence. CITs also observe and learn professional techniques from camp counselors, such as conflict resolution, maintaining a safe environment, and encouraging positive interactions among campers.

Being a CIT is an enriching experience where teens develop valuable life skills, make lasting memories, and become role models—all while immersing themselves in the joy of French language and cultures.
