Registration Open Now!
We are excited about our in-person French Afterschool program for the 2026-2027 school year. We offer French classes in many locations around the Bay Area: Alameda, Belmont, Berkeley, Brentwood, Kensington, Menlo Park, Mountain View, Napa, Orinda, San Francisco (Noe Valley), San Francisco (Sunset), San Jose, San Ramon, Tiburon, and Walnut Creek / Pleasant Hill.
We select our partner schools based on geographic location, accessibility, standards of quality and safety, and a shared interest in promoting bilingualism. Weâve created a strong network of partner schools that rely on us to provide Afterschool French classes at the best prices. We accept children from other schools, so you can enroll your child in any location that works for you.
Interested in enrolling for the 2025-2026 academic year? Classes are in session, but we still have limited openings in some of our groups. Rolling admissions are openâyou can join the program now! We prorate the tuition so you only pay for the remaining classes in the school year. Give your child the gift of bilingualism today!
In-person Afterschool sites seem far away? We encourage carpooling and are happy to connect you with other EFBA families in your area!

- Ages: Classes available for students grades K-5.

New Student Process: After online registration and payment, all new students with prior knowledge of French will be assessed before being confirmed at a class level.

Important Notes:
All new students with a prior knowledge of French will be assessed prior to class assignment – contact us to schedule an assessment. You can book your assessment now to determine your child’s level (Francophone, French as a Second Language).
Thanks to the support of our generous donors, EFBA is able to offer scholarships to six students. If you would also like to support our mission of making French language learning accessible to all students regardless of their background, click here to donate a full or partial scholarship.
Scholarships are available, please contact admissions@efba.us for more information.
We believe in the power of inclusion and warmly welcome children with special needs (including those with learning differences or requiring assistance) to all our programs.
To ensure the best possible experience for your child, please inform us about their specific needs during the enrollment process. As a small nonprofit, advance notice is crucial for us to make thoughtful and reasonable accommodations. We kindly request that you notify us at least one month in advance of the start date. This allows us time to collaborate with you, understand your child’s needs thoroughly, and develop a supportive plan for their successful participation.
There are a few dates during the school year when a host school will close due to school events, parent-teacher conferences, etc. When the host school closure falls on a date that EFBA holds class, classes will be made up at the end of the year. Parents are provided with a calendar at the beginning of the year, and it is updated throughout the school year.
