DETECTIVE GAME AT THE OPERA GARNIER

Event Overview

We miss taking your children to the symphony and opera and have adapted our well-loved cultural program to a virtual format! Through a Detective Game led by music teacher Valentin Desmarets, our adventurers will learn to enjoy different types of music and gain a deeper understanding of core concepts like melody, rhythm, and harmony.

Previous musical education is a plus but not necessary.

Teaching Objectives

Through this Detective Game, participants will:

  • Learn more about the Paris Opera Garnier
  • Discover the timbres of instruments
  • Explore different musical styles
  • Be introduced to body percussion

… and all in a playful way!

Cultural point: The Opera regularly hosts performances of lyrical shows or ballets. It is one of the main venues (along with the Opéra Bastille) of the Paris National Opera, which is one of the best ballet companies in the world. It is also the main venue for the Paris Opera Orchestra and Choirs.

More about the Detective Game

In the early morning of March 20, Alexander Neef, Director of the Paris Opera Garnier, is devastated to find the legendary silver guitar that the monument housed in a safe room has disappeared! He must find a solution quickly, as a major concert is planned for the same evening.

French journalist Rouletabille, Joseph’s great-granddaughter, is called to the rescue along with a group of young analysts to question the musicians involved in this case. By discovering the suspects’ musical talents, our investigators will be able to collect clues about the culprit. Get ready for an adventure rich in emotion!
