Classes are available for Francophone (native speaker) and French as a Second Language (FSL) students in elementary school (grade K-5), middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12).

In order to best accommodate families’ different schedules, we are offering both in-person and online versions of our Afterschool program!

In the 2025-2026 program, we are maintaining our K-8 Online Kids French Classes offerings for both the Francophone and French as Second Language tracks

LIVE CLASSES & FORMAT

Online K to 8th Classes

Starting September 15, 2025

Our online Afterschool program follows the same schedule as our in-person program: 1.5-hour live sessions with our French teachers twice a week.

  • French Classes for Native Speakers
  • French as a Second Language (FSL)

Online High School Classes

Starting September 16, 2025.

Our online Afterschool program follows the same schedule as our in-person program: 1.5-hour live sessions with our French teachers twice a week.

  • FL-B High School (HS)

Also, back by popular request, our AP French © prep class prepares high school students for this exam. The online group class meets once a week for 1.5 hours, with biweekly 30-minute one-on-one prep sessions with the instructor.

For online classes, additional homework and asynchronous activities may be assigned between live class sessions. To optimize interaction and quality, the class size for each online class is limited to a maximum of 9 students.

After online registration and payment, all new students with prior knowledge of French will be assessed before being confirmed in a class level.

EDUCATIONAL GOALS / LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Deliver high quality Online Kids French Classes that incorporates elements of play-based pedagogy.
  • Ensure instructional continuity during a time of uncertainty.
  • Provide pedagogical content in a safe space online to enhance students’ ability to learn faster and create emotional bonds with others and with the target language.
  • Teach children to build a healthy relationship with technology and use electronic devices for educational purposes.
  • Promote French language as a means to unite families and involve parents in what and how their children learn and practice French.
  • Develop content to support kids with disabilities and different learning styles.
  • Keep students progressing towards the level benchmarks.

DATES, PRICES & REGISTRATION

K to 8th French Classes

Our classes start the week of September 15, 2025, and run through the last week of May 2024.

There will be an orientation night prior to the start of the academic year.

Online Kids French Classes provides the same quality and teaching hours as our in-person program. The curriculum, goals and outcomes remain the same.

French Classes for Native Speakers

These classes will enhance all major language skills with the help of our expert teachers. Our exciting curriculum for native speakers utilizes a variety of activities including interactive games, and projects to ensure long lasting retention.

Levels:
  • Petits Francophones (PF) – K-2nd grade
  • Moyens Francophones (MF) – 2nd-5th grade
  • Grands Francophones (GF) – 2nd-5th grade
  • FL-C (preparation for DELF B1 exam) – 6th-8th grade
  • FL-D (preparation for DELF B2 exam) – 6th-8th grade
When:
Our live online classes meet for 1.5-hour sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays starting September 15, 2025 for a total of 81 hours of instruction (54 lessons).
Who:
Former EFBA students in the Francophone track: PF, MF, GF, FL-C, FL-D
New EFBA students with experience in French – language assessment required!

French as a Second Language (FSL)

Our FSL classes will develop the key language skills for non-native speakers. Built in stimulating activities keep students active and engaged while developing their knowledge and love of French.

Levels:

  • FSL 1 – K-2nd grade
  • FSL 2 – 2nd-5th grade
  • FSL 3 – 2nd-5th grade
  • FL-A (preparation for the DELF A1 exam) – 6th-8th grade
  • FL-B (preparation for the DELF A2 exam) – 6th-8th grades
  • FL-B HS (preparation for the DELF A2 exam) – 9th-12th grade

Our in-person classes meet for 1.5-hour sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting September 16, 2025 for a total of 81 hours of instruction (54 lessons)

AP French © Prep by EFBA

AP © French Exam Prep by EFBA is designed to provide high school students with the extra boost they need to succeed on the AP © French Language and Culture Exam.

Levels:

When:

Live 1.5-hour sessions on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:30pm PST for a total of 40.5 hours (27 lessons) , with biweekly one-on-one 30-minute sessions at a time convenient for your child.

Who:

Former EFBA students grades 9-12 in the Francophone track

New EFBA students grades 9-12 with experience in French – language assessment required!

 $3050 a year!
